Festa Junina

Festa Junina (June Festival), also called Festa de São João (Saint John’s Feast), is a celebration that historically goes back to the European Midsummer festival which celebrated the bountiful harvest. In Brazil, it takes place at the beginning of winter and is a celebration in honor of St. John the Baptist (June 24th), St. Anthony (June 13th), and St. Peter (June 29th).

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, we do not plan to host the festival in 2021; however, we will have the 3-Day Triduum of Prayers offered each night from June 9 - 11, 2021, at 7:30pm at the Our Lady of Aparecida Shrine (Rain location:  Santo Nino Shrine).
